Namie Amuro – “WHAT A FEELING” PV

Yeah, I know I’m ruining my CD, but I just can’t help it. Today I spent an unhealthy amount of time whoring out the “WHAT A FEELING” PV. Say what you want, but it’s a damn good waste of time if you ask me. This song is sheer ecstasy. I don’t care what kinda stuff kids are on these days — this is what they should be on.

Admittedly, the PV isn’t as fantastic as the previous two (I’ll leave it up to you to YouTube them yourself) — in fact, it looks almost low-budget in comparison (perhaps they spent it on all the robots?) — but the song just about makes up for it. I say “just about” only because well, the first two PVs were like Hollywood blockbusters in their own right while this one mostly makes me glad I was only around for 1 year of the ’80s.

I actually thought it was a really good PV. Very modern, sort of channeling Kanye West’s ‘Stronger’. The song is one of the best songs she’s released, in the top 15 for sure. I’ve been whoring it out too. I can’t wait to do my full review when I get my copy… so excited!

    Thanks for the add.

My major beef with the video is that it looks just like any other Namie Amuro video — some dancing, some costume changes, and some staring down the camera — albeit with a larger budget. Whereas the other two combined elements of the represented era to give us a better feel of what it was like back then. I can’t speak for the videos’ authenticity because I obviously wasn’t around, but it feels like they captured the essence of the decade better as opposed to “WHAT A FEELING” which basically threw us back to the electropop scene.

But when’s all said and done, I still love the single and this song especially. Can’t wait for my copy to come!
