the pillows is a band that I’ve been slowly getting into after hearing their single, Tokyo Bambi, and totally loving the track “Across the Metropolis”. As a result, I’ve been listening to some of their stuff, especially their 2006 album My Foot. And there’s really nothing to say other than that the band has a great sound — and they should, considering they’ve been around as long as I’ve been alive! Maybe not so important to other people, but certainly to me, is consistency within an album and My Foot’s got that. The tracks are distinct enough for certain ones to jump out (e.g. “My Foot”, “The Third Eye”, “My Girl”), but sound cohesive as a whole for me not to question if I’m still listening to the same artist, much less the same album. Although I pretty much already concluded they were a great band from “Across the Metropolis” alone, it’s nice to know I was right (hah, doesn’t it always?).
